Our Story

Black Moon Galleries came about back in mid-2006, as one of the many crazy ideas I have had. I was concerned that many
artists out there, myself included, just really didn't know how to break into the art scene. I know that I personally had little to
no clue. I knew a lot of good people who just happened to be very good artists, whether their medium was photography, digital art,
painting, drawing or whatever else you could think of.

I also found it very disconcerting that it was hard to find a venue to sell my art, but also to get a fair price for it. After all,
it is my art. There's a fine line between greed and fair pricing, but I wanted to have a place where I could reap the rewards of
my hard work. I wanted to let others also be able to do the same. I concluded that the only way this was going to happen
was if I sat down and did it myself, and thus Black Moon Galleries was born.

We didn't have much at first, not even a name, but sometimes all you need is the drive. With the blessings and support of my good
friends and family, and the exceptional support of this site's co-founder, Catherine Liversidge, the project slowly began to
take shape. As Catherine supplied the graphics, I went back to my HTML roots to try and construct a website that was not only
artistic in itself, but was also easy to use with as few bells and whistles as possible. It was definitely slow going, but as
we all know slow and steady wins the race. It took about four months total time to get this all up and running, but after many long
days and sleepless nights (and more support from my dear Catherine than I could have ever hoped for) we finally arrived at completion.

And here we are today, helping artists around the world to get their foot in the door and show everyone just what they can do.
Thank you very much for visiting, and we hope you find whatever it is you might be searching for.

Sincerely,

James E. Cubby
